Chico is full of special places, but Bear Hole (and the many swimming holes in Upper Park) are at the top of my list. I’ve spent countless days exploring the creek and the cliffs and nooks and crannies from the eastern park boundary all the way downstream to Bidwell Mansion. I’ve taken thousands of mountain bike rides, literally trying to cover every inch of every trail over the years, and I always end up somewhere near Bear Hole for a jump in the water. The dramatic black rocks, deep canyon, and cool rushing water are irresistable. ~ Jake
