"Point Reyes," the 18th piece in my Highway 1 Series of original hand-printed serigraphs. I've been to Point Reyes a number of times in my life, and usually it's been cold, grey, windy and wet. The ocean is often turbulent and the water is always cold. On this day however (it was late August 2009), I got out to the cliffs overlooking Drakes Bay late in the afternoon and everything was calm. A warm golden glow had settled over the entire area and the ocean was flat. Everything was quiet. It was a beautiful scene for sure, but mainly I was struck because O had never seen Point Reyes in this light. It was memorable day that has stuck with me. Of course there were lots of cows too - there are always cows. This is an 11 color image (including a metallic ink) and required over 2,500 hand-pulled impressions to complete. ~ Jake
